
Moon Plains (Sandathenna) is a great place to see panoramic views of the hill. One of the main attractions of the dot is the small world end which gives views of the surrounding hills and towns at an angle of 300 degrees. Here you can see wild boars, buffaloes, cows, deer and bird species. Among them are about 105 bird species, 16 of which are endemic to Sri Lanka.
It also covers a wide area. In good weather, you will be able to see the peak of nine mountains. They are Pidurutalaga (highest peak), Single Tree Mountain, Kikiliyamana Mountain, Great Western Mountain, Konical Hill Mountain, Kirigalpoththa Mountain (2nd highest peak), Thotupola Mountain (6th highest peak), Hakgala Mountain and Namunukula Mountain.
In the mornings and evenings, a traveler can see beautiful views of sunrise and sunset. Therefore, the best time to visit here is morning and evening.
