Gampaha - henarathgaoda botanical garden
Henarathgoda Botanic Garden is one of the six botanic gardens in Sri Lanka. It is about a kilometer from Colombo. About 29 yards away. The first rubber tree collapsed due to a rainstorm in 1988 and the rest of it is now preserved as a national monument in the country. The park was built by Muhandiram A. Soysa.

The Botanic Garden is comprised of a large collection of tropical, sub-tropical, wet zone and dry zone trees. such as palm trees, orchids is a collection of varieties. The Botanic Garden is a herbarium of anthurium, begonia, deliace, zebras and more. The Botanic Garden covers about 43 acres.

It is home to over 80 species of birds. Wildlife researchers say 10 of them are endemic to Sri Lanka. In addition, 18 species of mammals live together with birds. So it’s not just a botanical garden, it’s a place where animals live.

The park is popular among tourists and teenagers alike. Henarathgoda Botanic Garden is open to the public every day.
