Madol Duwa is one of the seven islands in Lake Koggala This is best known was through the Martin Wickremasinghe's novel "Madol Duwa". It is believed that during the Second World War, the Japanese used it for landing airplane.
It is also a mangrove small island and you can see a variety of birds and kind of shrimp. Today, several families live there. If you visit there you will be able to enjoy their hospitality. You'll have to go there by boat and It will also make you feel a fresh experience.
